I discovered Genuardi's when I moved to Philly almost ten years ago. They are known all around the Delaware Valley for their gorgeous stores, superior produce and wonderful customer service - none of which changed when they were bought out by Safeway. (Whew!)
Now Genuardi’s is expanding its long-term commitment to great quality and value by offering its customers lower prices on thousands of new everyday items across the store.
To help get the word out, they offered several local bloggers a gift card to use to shop at our local Genuardi’s to experience their new low prices and to blog about our shopping experiences. So this week I made my list and headed to Genuardi’s to do some shopping. There were lots of “new lower prices” signs on items throughout the store. And, of course, the whole Genuardi's experience was just as it always is: high quality, friendly people and terrific prices.
The sales this week were super - I stocked up for Thanksgiving, refilled my pantry and snagged some killer deals. Like free breakfast! This weekend, customers could get a dozen eggs, orange juice, a pound of bacon and a loaf of bread for FREE with the coupons in the ad and a $50 purchase. And I stocked up on brand-name cereal for only $1.50 a box. And the store-brand organic milk is a great price! And the produce was gorgeous as always.
In addition to my own gift card, Genuardi's generiously offered me 2 $50 gift cards to Girlymama readers. Here's how to enter:
1. Contest ends Friday, November 13.
2. Entry #1: Leave a comment just saying you want to win.
3. Entry #2: Leave a SEPARATE comment telling me your trick to keeping your grocery bill down.
4. Entry #3: Leave another comment telling me in what way you promoted this contest (i.e., posting about it on your blog or Facebook, Tweeting about it, emailing friends, and/or subscribe to my feed by email or in a reader).
5. Winners will be selected by Random.org, announced back here on this post, and notified via email with further instructions.
Good luck!!!

Would LOVE to win!!

I've recently gotten back into using coupons and have been following blogs like momsneedtoknow.com to find the best deals at our stores in the Philly suburbs!

Would love to win - Genuardi's has an amazing selection of produce, much better than the other stores in my area.

I try to save by cooking several meals on Sundays -- this helps me avoid wasting veggies that might have otherwise gone bad, especially if we got too busy during the week and opted for take-out or a frozen option.

I try to buy as many "store brand" items as I can. I am also trying to cut my grocery bill by eating through what's in my pantry and my freezer.

it takes a little planning, but matching coupons with the sales can result in some REALLY sweet, almost free deals.
For non-perishables, if I can score something free or cheap that I don't need right now (cereal or pasta for instance), just drop it off at the local food pantry!

I don't know if it's too late but I'm in.

I try really hard to stock up when prices are good with deals to match AND I have the coupons to match them. We are on a super tight budget and every bit helps. I love leaving the market with $40 worth of groceries for $5!

I would so love to win! It would be just in time to help us build a stockpile for Christmas guests as we host our first Christmas with them this year!

We have 5 children, ages 4 months to 7 years. My best trick is to buy multiple copies of Sunday papers on weeks that the coupons are best so that I can really stock up when I hit good sales. I've been doing this since reading this suggestion at momsneedtoknow.com and it has helped a bunch.

I keep my grocery bill in check with meal planning in conjunction with the sales ad for the following week. I also stock up on sale items when I see a good deal

You bet I'd like to win! Thanks!

To keep our bills down, I do the following:
* Shop the sales!
* Use lots of coupons!
* Stockpile when I get a good deal!
* Cook most of our meals from as scratch as possible.
* Be the hostsite for a local CSA, which keeps my veggie bill waaaaaaaay down 6 months of the year.
