signs that you may have, perhaps, overreacted

The baby crawls out of the room (To avoid what is being unleashed on his big sisters.)

You make your kids cry. (Not 'throwing a fit' crying. But that horrible, tragic crying where they are silent with big tears sliding down their cheeks.)

You feel insanely guilty instantly. (Actually, the phrase "chopped liver" may be more appropriate.)

Actually, I felt guilty while I was yelling at them, but ignored it. (Being the fantastic mom that I am.)

Your daughter asks, "Will you forgive me, Mom? Please? Please forgive me, Mommy!" (Apparently under the assumption that someone this angry couldn't possibly be ready to forgive something)

Your kids try to be extra sweet for the rest of the day (For fear of waking the sleeping dragon)

Your kids wake up the next morning and say, "We're going to be soo good today, Mom! Super dooper good!!" (Humph. Maybe a little fear isn't so bad...)

Off to go work off some guilt now!

i think i've overdosed on coffee

We had a super fun weekend. But Mama can barely move she is so exhausted! And she has been drinking coffee since 7am. And now could probably run to Seattle and back, she is so overly caffeinated.

Ugh. This crash is not going to be pretty. Maybe I should just keep drinking... Seriously - my hands are shaking as I'm trying to type.

We did have a great weekend of seeing old friends and catching up with family. It was a special surprise that my brother-in-law could join us, since we thought he had to work. (He's in police academy, which basically means he's Maryland's biatch for like 9 months.)
And can I just share how much FOOD I ate this weekend? If you added up everything you ate over the past two weeks and compressed it into two days, you might come close. Seriously! There was blueberry AND cherry pie! And homemade cheesecake! And my sister-in-law made this! What choice did I have????
Salad for lunch today, I think.

My girls are taking tennis lessons. I promise to take pictures and post them next week -- it is soooooo cute. They have a "tiny court" and a "tiny net" and their rackets are ridiculously huge for their little tiny arms. And Grace, bless her, but she is NOT coordinated. Ironic, what with her name and all. But she keeps hitting herself (and other students) with the racket and/or balls. Occasionally with both. At the same time.
Its hilarious. You should see the observing moms trying not to laugh out loud at her.

decisions. decisions. decisions.

I feel like all I'm doing lately is contemplating big decisions. And small decisions. And medium decisions.
Should we still try to move? Or just give up?
Should we enroll Grace in this preschool or that one? Morning or afternoon?
Should I have the surgery sooner or later?
Should Ellie play soccer? Or tennis? Or t-ball? Or gymnastics? Or piano? Or ballet?
Where should Ellie take ballet? Or gymnastics?
And what about Grace?
What should I make for dinner?
How should we deal with Colin's temper?
What church should we go to?

UGH!

Sometimes I just want to pull the covers over my head and go back to sleep.

perfect promotion for the germ-a-phobes mamas!

Recently the nice folks at Forte Promo sent me an antibacterial pocket spray to test out:
Sprayer

What they say about it:

  • 0.25oz (8 ml) of our hand sanitizer in a convenient mini-sprayer with clip cap.
  • Fits nicely into your pocket, handbag, or tote.
  • Available in your choice of 13 cap colors
  • Your organization/logo is added to the side.

What I say about it:
Great. Great, great, great!
I've never seen hand sanitizer in a spray form before. While I don't consider myself a huge germ-a-phobe, I am a hugefan of hand sanitizer. HUGE.
Some of you may remember that we took our kids (ages 3 and 4 at the time) to India. We brought lots and LOTS of hand sanitizer and used it constantly. And none of us got sick. Not a single case of "Delhi Belly". Not even a cold. And I was sold on hand sanitizer forever.
When I was in India (and sometimes in gross places in America), I would put some hand sanitizer on a tissue and use it to clean off the table or grocery cart or something. But this spray would be PERFECT for that!! Its a great size, easy to use, smells nice, doesn't leak and is super convenient.
This would be a fabulous promotional item for any organization! I would keep one in my purse constantly. I highly recommend it!
